Our physicians conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations of children and adolescents and formulate an individualized treatment plan in collaboration with their family and therapist. Every child is seen by a resident physician being trained to provide quality child and adolescent psychiatric care in consultation with a fully-trained faculty attending physician. Our medication management clinic is a teaching clinic with close supervision by full-time faculty. Medication management, in combination with psychotherapy, can be an important part of the overall plan of care for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral disorders. If accepted for therapy, Child Study Center offers comprehensive specialized treatments including: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP).Ĭonditions we can assess (but do not treat) include: Consultation from a child psychiatrist, psychiatric social worker or other mental health specialist is available as needed. This clinic primarily treats children of ages preschool through 13, along with their parents or guardians. The Center is operated in conjunction with the Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) at UAMS. ![]() The Child Study Center’s Outpatient Therapy Clinic serves the entire state of Arkansas, with over 1,000 new patients referred each year.
